Tuition and Fees for the 2013-2014 School Year
Our school depends upon and is tremendously enriched by the vital resources brought by our families. Well beyond tuition and fee payments, our parents/guardians provide extensive volunteer hours, contributions of professional expertise, and contributions to our fundraising efforts. These commitments, in addition to tuition and fees, are expected from all families but are made, of course, according to families’ abilities and means.
Early Childhood Program Tuitions
Parent-Infant Classes – Birth to 24 months
1 day/week – Mondays; 9:30am to 11:00 am
$160 per 8-week session (Fall, Winter & Spring sessions)
Parent-Child Classes – ages 2 years (24 months) through 3 ½ years (42 months)
1 day/week - Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Saturdays; 9:30am to 11:30 am
$200 per 8-week session (Fall, Winter & Spring sessions)
$75 per 3-week Holiday Session
2 Day Transition Program – 3 years (36 months) to 4 ¼ years (51 months)
2 days/week – Thursdays & Fridays; 8:30am to 12:00 noon
$2700 per school year
Pre-K/Kindergarten - ages 3 years through 6 years
5 days/week (Mondays through Fridays); 8:15am to 12:15pm
$6500 per school year
3 days/week (Tuesdays through Thursdays); 8:15am to 12:15pm

*Class Assignments will be announced at the end of June based upon Enrollment. Children who turn 5 years of age by June 1, 2013 are considered “true Kindergarteners” and are required to register for 5 days per week. True Kindergarteners are considered candidates for the 2014 First Grade class. Each candidate will participate in a First Grade Readiness Screening in January or February to determine readiness to begin elementary school in the fall.

This is an optional discount - all families can choose to waive sibling discounts in support of the school.

Siblings within the age-range for the class are welcome to enroll for a 50% discount
Early Childhood Programs – 2-Day Transition, 3 Day & 5 Day Programs
Grade School Programs- Grades 1-8
Families having siblings that are simultaneously enrolled in the above programs are offered a 10% tuition reduction for a second child enrolled, a 40% tuition reduction for a third child enrolled, and a 70% tuition reduction for a fourth or more children enrolled.
Tuition Adjustment Information for 2013-2014
As a social practice, the Four Winds Waldorf School Tuition Adjustment Program plays a major role in contributing to the success and health of the school. The Four Winds Waldorf School strives to adhere to the mission and principle of supporting accessibility for all qualified students who seek a Waldorf education.
Families with students in Early Childhood (2-day Pre-K & Kindergarten program) through 8th Grade are eligible for Tuition Adjustment.
Tuition Adjustment Process
Awards are considered by the Tuition Adjustment Committee (TAC), a group comprised of faculty and members of the parent body. TAC strives to meet each applying family’s financial need to the greatest extent possible, as well as to allocate funds to the greatest number of qualifying families. In return, we ask that families receiving tuition adjustments make Waldorf education a financial priority and demonstrate a willingness to pay to the maximum extent of their financial capability. Putting these principles into practice requires judgment and sensitivity on the part of both the school and each family. It involves making hard choices, as resources are limited. Please rest assured that all information submitted to the TAC will remain confidential and be given full and fair consideration.

simplifies the tuition adjustment application process and will support a healthy balance of awards.
Application Fee (new students only)
$75 per child
A non-refundable deposit of $400 per child or $800 per family (with 2 or more children simultaneously enrolled) is due at the deadline for contract renewal and will be applied to the tuition balance due Enrollment Deposit.
The Supply fee is required for each student and must be paid in full by July 10, 2013, or upon return of the signed Enrollment Contract, if later than July 10th. The supply fee is non-refundable after August 1, 2013. The supply fee is pro-rated for mid-year enrollments.

Tuition Insurance/Refund Plan Premium
Once a student has enrolled, Four Winds Waldorf School cannot refund tuition or cancel unpaid obligations if the student withdraws during the academic year. Therefore, Four Winds has contracted with A.G. Dewar to offer parents a way of insuring their obligation to the school. In the event of early withdrawal or dismissal, the benefits paid out by A.G. Dewar will help to offset all or a portion of a family’s unused tuition cost; families will still be responsible for any portion the insurance does not cover. Families who do not pre-pay tuition in full are required to participate in the Tuition Refund Plan. However, if annual tuition is paid in full upon enrollment, participation is optional. The tuition insurance Premium rate for the 2013-2014 school year is 2.8% of the total tuition obligation after any sibling discounts or tuition adjustment awards have been applied (Extended Care costs do not apply). The Premium must be paid in full by July 10, 2013 or upon return of the signed Enrollment Contract, if later than July 10th.
Upon acceptance, an Enrollment Contract will be generated outlining the total tuition, fees, and insurance due to the school as well as the schedule of payments. The contract also includes Terms & Conditions and must be signed and returned in accordance with the due date printed on the Enrollment Contract.
Remaining Tuition Payment Options – Single Payment or Monthly Payments
Single Payment Option
Payment in full of the remaining tuition may be made by cash or check. Families are eligible for a 3% discount on the remaining tuition when paid in full between April 1, 2013 and June 1, 2013.
Monthly Payment Option
If you do not prepay the remaining tuition in full, you are required to submit payment in 10 monthly installments via automatic withdrawal beginning in August, 2013 and ending in May 2014. Families enrolling after August 1, 2013 will have their withdrawal schedule adjusted with the final withdrawal occurring in May 2014. Families paying in installments must register with FACTS Tuition Management. FACTS will automatically deduct your monthly payments from your checking or savings account and will in turn transfer the funds to the school. Payments via FACTS are withdrawn on the 20th of the month. A $41 annual fee is charged by FACTS for this service and will be withdrawn directly by FACTS from your checking or savings account upon execution of the FACTS Agreement.
Extended Care Contracts
A separate contract is generated for Extended Care usage. Fees for this program may be paid in advance or may be paid in monthly installments via FACTS Tuition Management. Tuition Insurance is not offered with Extended Care Contracts. Extended Care Contracts may be canceled in full or in part with 2 weeks written notice with no further financial obligation on the part of the family. Any overpayment will be refunded to the family.
