Print this PageNinety percent of Four Winds Waldorf School’s operating budget is funded through tuition. The remaining 10 percent is based on fundraising activities, including contributions to our Annual Fund.
The Annual Fund allows families to make fully tax-deductible gifts to our school and helps us avoid tuition increases. Contributions are strictly voluntary—and all gifts are gratefully received and warmly acknowledged—although our hope is that each family will participate at some level, based on their means. In addition to the Annual Fund, our school hosts occasional fundraising events, allowing parents additional opportunities to support Four Winds, both financially and through gifts of service.
Our Annual Fund Goal for 2010-2011 is $35,000 and 100% Participation from our Four Winds Waldorf Families!

Fundraising Activities at Four Winds Waldorf School
Four Winds Waldorf School is supported primarily through tuition revenue paid by our dedicated and supportive parents. In order to meet our financial responsibilities, we have developed a number of fundraising activities which not only provide necessary additional income, but offer opportunities for relatives and friends to support our school in cities and states beyond our boundaries.
Annual Fund
Each year Four Winds Waldorf School sets a monetary goal for an Annual Fund Campaign. In addition to this financial goal, we strive to reach 100% participation by our current families.
We are a 501(c)3 Non-profit Corporation registered in the State of Illinois which allows all contributions to our school to be tax-deductible. Each donation will be acknowledged with gratitude and documentation for your records.
Great Lakes Scrip Program
Founded in 1994, Great Lakes Scrip Center has helped more than 14,000 non-profit organizations raise more than $250 million dollars with scrip.
With scrip fundraising, our families simply do their regular weekly shopping with gift cards from America's favorite retailers. With each purchase, Four Winds Waldorf School earns cash rebates that can quickly add up to tens of thousands of dollars a year – this money can be used for tuition assistance, faculty development, special projects or wherever our organization needs.

Spring Fundraiser
Each spring a group of dedicated parents in collaboration with our school community develop a spring fundraiser to not only raise money but also provide a creative, social opportunity for members of our community and beyond.
Past Spring Fundraisers include:
Children’s Clothing and Toy Resale
Silent Auctions
Spaghetti Dinners
Corporate Matching Gifts
Ask the Human Resources Officer where you work if there is a charitable Matching Gift program (hundreds of companies—large and small—have one).
If the answer is "yes", ask for a Matching Gift Form and complete your portion.
IF THE ANSWER IS NO, talk to your HR Director and suggest you consider it!
Four Winds Bookstore
Stop by our school during open hours and peruse the bookstore shelves for art and handwork supplies, beeswax candles, honey and a number of other special items.
Classroom Fundraisers
Specific classes may engage in specific fundraisers toward special class trips or outings. These fundraisers are developed and managed by the Class Teacher, parents and students and may include selling Organic Eggs, Holiday Greens, Valentine’s Day treats, Organic Chocolate Bars or other products.
Groman Café is a weekly fundraiser for Grades 6 and 7. It is also an excellent way to meet and greet fellow parents and community members.
